About this Pattern

About the Designer
Errata

The Charlie Dungarees are a timeless wardrobe piece for little explorers. Knitted in sustainable Scheepjes Kindsome, they combine comfort and durability with a soft, natural feel that’s gentle against delicate skin. With options to make either the full dungarees or a simple pair of easy-to-pull-up elasticated trousers, this design sits beautifully alongside Kindsome’s theme of lasting care.

Worked mainly in a 3x1 rib, the pattern uses I-cord cast-offs to give the edges a tidy finish. The legs, bib, casing, and shoulder straps are worked flat before being joined at the crotch and continued in the round. Elastic at the waist provides a snug yet comfortable fit, while the wooden button fastenings add a natural, outdoorsy touch.

The Charlie Dungarees pattern includes full written instructions and a measurement table for three sizes, from 0–6 to 12–24 months. You'll find it in Scheepjes Pattern Portfolio Volume 04: Kindsome, along with four other baby knits by the same designer. The collection is available both in print from Scheepjes retailers and as a digital download on Ravelry, in English and Dutch.

Handmadepast

Hey, I am Irene and I am the designer of Handmadepast. I live in an old listed building from 1760, 7km from the sea in the Netherlands. I have a sweet little studio there with a real bedstead! I love knitting and crochet, of course, but also quilting, embroidery and everything you can make with fabric, as well as playing tennis, reading and travelling. From an early age, I learned to knit and had a penchant for learning all sorts of things you could make with your hands... even carpentry, glass engraving, painting... you name it.My designs and inspiration come mostly from nature and from the beautiful trips we have taken. I was also an agent for various baby and children's brands for a long time and this fondness is also reflected in my designs. I love playful, colourful, cheerful but also sweet, vintage and cosy.I hope my designs inspire people to get creative themselves. And hope they become as enthusiastic about working with balls of wool as I am.You can find my designs on my website, Ravelry and Etsy
