Now featured in a new palette inspired by the rustic charm of Dutch landscapes—think bricks, winter skies, fishing nets, and wooden boats—this generous rectangular wrap reflects the tones of its surroundings. As a mindful crochet project, the pattern soon becomes second nature, allowing your hands to work almost effortlessly.

Originally introduced as the Saltwater Throw in YARN Bookazine 13 - Wadden, this pattern remains a favourite from our archives, showcasing the transformative power of a simple colour change!

To create your own unique version, select two colourways (using two cakes of each) from our long-gradient Scheepjes Whirl range. The result is a cosy, beautifully draped wrap finished with an elegant crab stitch edging on the shorter sides.

Materials
Scheepjes Whirl (60% Cotton, 40% Acrylic; 215g/1000m)
Yarn A 777 Scrumptious Lush x 2 yarn cakes
Yarn B 771 Jumpin’ Jaffa Pop x 2 yarn cakes
4mm and 5mm crochet hooks
Stitch marker

This is a beginner level pattern.

The written pattern for the Zuiderzee Wrap, which measures 120 x 190cm (47½ x 74¼") after blocking, appears in Scheepjes YARN Bookazine 18 – The Family Issue.
