Refresh your summer wardrobe with the Sorbet Sweater. Designer Margaret Hubert played with delicious colours and contrasting textures to create a wonderful light-hearted design. By holding together one strand of Scheepjes Mohair Rhythm with a strand of Whirl or Whirlette, the yarns of the Sorbet Sweater blend beautifully. Colour changes are softened and the simple crochet stitches take on an attractive marled appearance in this easy-to-wear oversized sweater.

I started in the needle arts business in 1963, as co-owner of a small yarn shop. When the shop closed, 12 years later, I became the needlework instructor at Bloomingdale’s in White Plains, New York. Since then, I have written 32 books, the most recent being ONE PIECE KNITS,

I have had many designs in knit and crochet publications, and in many multi-authored hard cover books. I have also done many designs for yarn companies. I teach knitting and crocheting workshops all over the country and I have been teaching in my local yarn shop in Pawing, NY for the past 30 years. Sadly, The Yarn Box, recently closed its doors. I still love teaching, and I have recently started a group of fiber artists. We meet in the Methodist Church in Pawling, NY, every Wednesday from 2 to 5. This group is growing rapidly, and presently we have 25 members.

I love all aspects of both knitting and crocheting, but
combining knitting and crochet in free form designs, is my passion. I have been inducted into the Jean Leinhauser Crochet Hall of Fame. Forgot to mention, I turned 91 Jan, 3, 2026.
