Errata

Medieval designs and textiles influenced both Pre-Raphaelite and Arts and Crafts artists, and rich tapestries and fleur-de-lis (lily flower) motifs inspired this luxurious wrap. Crocheted using lightweight mohair and alpaca fibres, its contrasting textures are irresistibly warm and cosy.

This is an intermediate level pattern.

The pattern for the Siddal Scarf appears in YARN Bookazine 12 Romance, published by Scheepjes.

I’m Nerissa, an Australian expat in the Netherlands. I grew up on a farm in country South Australia, and some of my earliest memories are from shearing time, lying under the wool table while the locks floated down like snowflakes.

Sheep and wool are in my DNA; I was taught to knit and spin by my grandmother as a small child (our own wool, of course),and I think I learned to crochet by osmosis. I filed it away for many years, only to pick it up again while pregnant, and now my daughter is my greatest inspiration.

I truly enjoy this crochet (and now knitting) adventure I’m on. It brings me closer to my roots, and I feel enormous satisfaction bringing something to life with nothing more than a stick (or hook) in my hand and a ball of wool.
